  • Application Process

We know bringing a Ridgeback into your home is a big decision and we take that responsibility seriously. Our application process is designed to ensure each puppy is placed in the right home for their personality, temperament, and future.

    Here’s How It Works:

    Submit an Application
Tell us about your home, lifestyle, experience, and what you're looking for in a Ridgeback. This helps us understand if one of our pups is the right fit for you — and vice versa.

    Connection & Review
If your application aligns with our values, we may schedule a quick call to answer questions and learn more about your expectations. This is your chance to get to know us and our process.

    Waitlist & Deposit
Once approved, you’ll be invited to join our waitlist with a $500 non-refundable deposit, which goes toward the final puppy price. Families are added to the list in the order deposits are received.

    Pregnancy & Puppy Updates
As the litter progresses, you’ll receive exclusive updates including photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes moments from birth to go-home day.

    Matching Process
At 6-7 weeks, we begin temperament evaluations to help match each puppy to the best home based on energy, personality, and family goals. This is a collaborative and thoughtful process — no “first pick” race here.

    Go-Home Day
At 8–9 weeks old, your puppy will be ready to join your family! You’ll receive a full puppy packet, transition plan, and access to us for lifelong support.

  • Waitlist FAQ

Q: Can I choose my own puppy?
A: We use a guided matching process. At 6-7 weeks, we evaluate each pup’s temperament and pair them with families based on lifestyle and compatibility. You're part of the process — but the match is made with your long-term success in mind.

Q: What’s the total cost of a puppy?
A: Our puppies are priced at $2,500, which includes lifetime breeder support, early development work, and a holistic head start in life. Your $500 deposit goes toward this total.

    Q: Do you ship puppies?
A: We prefer to meet our families in person, but we can arrange for flight nanny delivery or personal transport in some cases. Reach out to discuss your location and options.

Q: What if I’m not ready for a puppy from this litter?
A: That’s okay! You can defer your deposit to a future litter if needed.

Q: Will my puppy be vaccinated?
A: We do not vaccinate our puppies prior to go-home, as we follow a natural rearing philosophy rooted in health, nutrition, and immune support. You are welcome to work with your vet to create a minimal vaccine plan that aligns with your values.

Q: Can I visit Ember Ridge?
A: In-person visits are limited to approved waitlist families due to biosecurity and safety. We share extensive video updates throughout the process to keep you connected.

Q: What support do you offer after Go-Home Day?
A: Lifelong support. Whether it's nutrition questions, training help, or health decisions, we're here to walk with you — always.
